One weekend, many years ago, were heading home from town.
It was dark and the stars were shining brightly.
I don’t know how but my husband put on this song:
“Do you know this song?”
“ yes, I do!” — excitedly I spoke.
We increased the song’s volume and belted it out!
Driving home and having this song surround our homecoming was mesmerizing.
To this day, it is still his favorite song.
We sing it out when driving.
We sit in the car as the speakers try to keep up and shake the automobile.
Do you understand how powerful this song is?
Here is a verse to back it up:
11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus[a] from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. — Romans 8:11 ESV
How about this one?
4 Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. — 1 John 4:4 ESV

Here’s a little back story about my husband’s testimony:
He is the youngest of five and grew up in a strict church.
That means going to church, getting dressed fancy, and playing the part. If you didn’t fit the part, you were treated differently. Cheerful smiles, hide the realness of everything, and don’t get too personal. There is more to add but I do not want to spend time on that.
His dad passed away in 2010 in November. It happened suddenly. One of his older brothers picked him up from school and sped home.
In 2011, he was hit by a car while waiting for the school bus. A speeding car might I add. He flew up and landed in a ditch. His older brother tried to keep him awake while they awaited the ambulance. He has a scar and a story to tell.
When his momma passed away in January 2016, he was about to turn away from that church. Praise the Lord that one of his older sisters took him to a genuine faithful church.
In that moment of almost sinking and being pressed down by the world, Jesus stepped in.
Trials, tribulations, wins, loses, and lots of prayers later:
My husband got baptized in August 2022. Born again indeed!
My prayer for him to grow closer to Jesus was answered.
Numerous prayers prayed by myself, with my prayer circle, and close friends were answered.
Guess who changed in the process through this all too: me.
My calloused heart began to soften. So much changed within me. Within us.
You can say that healing was being worked in both of us.
The Lord’s gentle invitation to healing made it all worth it.
Saying you know Jesus is one thing. Knowing Jesus is a whole other thing.
I’m thankful for my sweet friend that took me under her wing on how to become a praying wife.
If interested, we went through The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian.
Rekindled love happened.
Hallelujah, Jesus, thank You!
With God, the Father, and within us. 🤍
When you are weak, you are strong because greater is He who is in you. Then the one who is in the world.
“The same power that rose Jesus from the grave
The same power that commands the dead to wake
Lives in us, lives in us” — Same Power by Jeremy Camp lyrics
Prayer from Cross Connections, Inc April 19, 2021:
“Please pray with us: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the blessings of this day filled with your unconditional love! Even though we so often run away and ignore you, Lord, you are always watching over us and protecting us. Thank you, Lord, for being our Good Shepherd, carrying us close to your heart, and giving everything you have for us. Please forgive our sins, Lord, and let our hearts be filled with repentance. In Jesus’ Name, we pray, Amen!”
A powerful God notices you, scoops you up, and holds you close 🤍
What’s your testimony?
